yum! what a tasty & wonderfully moist bar! i but fabricated a few elementary modifications such as substituting half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour & tossing a ane/2 c. aureate raisins into the batter (just because). "pumpkin pie spice" isn't something i accept in my pantry. instead i use the spices my grandmother put into her pumpkin pies: one/4 tsp. ground ginger, 1/iv tsp. footing nutmeg & 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon. a couple more notes: i went with the flow & broiled these in a ix x 9" pan to get a thicker bar. mine were done in 30 minutes. lastly, i skipped the frosting & sprinkled mine with confectioner'due south sugar. these bars have enough flavour to stand on their ain. thanks debbi!

I JUST MADE THIS AND It TURNED OUT GREAT. I Too USED AN 8X8 PAN AND BAKED FOR 20 MINUTES. I WAS ALSO OUT OF PUMPKIN PIE SPICE SO I USED A Lilliputian ALLSPICE, NUTMEG AND CINNAMON. IT IS Delicious. I Also ADDED SOME Chocolate-brown Sugar TO THE ICING, FROSTED THE CAKE WHILE WARM, AND CUT MYSELF A Piece. Skillful!! MY three Twelvemonth OLD DAUGHTER AND ONE Yr OLD SON LOVED IT Besides. Thank you FOR THIS Elementary RECIPE.
09/09/2003
These are sooooooo practiced. I substituted a homemade cream cheese icing instead and spread it on right later on baking. It gave it a glazed affect. They were gone in a matter of minutes! (icing: cream cheese, butter, vanilla, powdered sugar... yum)
09/24/2002
This recipe is FANTASTIC!!!! So easy to make. Delicious. Suprisingly low in calories besides (although it is hard to eat just one!!)!!!
03/11/2003
These were succulent and so piece of cake to make! I followed the directions exactly the first time. Adjacent fourth dimension I might try adding raisins and drizzling the frosting instead of spreading it. The bars come out but moist plenty, not wet like some absurdity confined. This will be a regular snack block in our domicile!
06/x/2008
Outstanding! I doubled the recipe per earlier reviews and it needed to be broiled for 45 minutes. I don't utilise compound spices like pumpkin pie spice, so I incorporated one-1/ii tsp ground cinnamon, i tsp ground nutmeg, 1/ii tsp ground allspice and 1/2 tsp ground cloves. I wanted to make them easy to pack in a lunch then when I removed the broiled bars from the oven, I turned on the broiler and poured a mixture of one/4 loving cup (half a stick) of melted butter, i/two cup packed of brown carbohydrate and 2 Tb milk over the tiptop and broiled until the topping was bubbly. The result was squeamish and spicy, plus wonderfully moist, with a slightly crunchy top. My son couldn't await until they were cool and cut himself 3 huge bars, devouring them immediately. This one's a keeper.
x/xiv/2002
These were astonishing--didn't last 24 hours! They taste like carrot cake without all the work. I added about two tsp. light brown carbohydrate to the frosting to requite information technology a touch of caramel.
xi/14/2002
These turned out actually proficient!! Depression fat too ;) Thanks for the recipe, I usually accept chunky applesauce but I merely had the cinnamon kind so I diced an apple tree and threw it in, they cam out a scrap moister obviously, but still delicious. A bit sugariness, perhaps side by side time I will thin the icing and drizzle instead. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!
11/23/2002
OMG these were Crawly!!!! very moist and just the correct amount of spice and sweetness. easy to make too! I did crook and used half a tub of store bought cream cheese frosting, melted that and drizzled on summit. YUMMMMM will definalty be a regular in our house!
09/24/2002
yummy! I added raisins and they turned out nifty! very moist! I will definitely brand these again
04/27/2003
I was very happy with how these bars turned out. They were very moist and loaded with flavor. I'll be making this recipe again and once again. Thanks Debbi!
01/25/2011
Listen UP: for those of yous who desire more of a bar and less cake-similar consistency, double all ingredients EXCEPT for the egg, and use a 9x13 pan. Less egg=less fluffy. I used ane/ii wheat flour and added raisins and they were TERRIFIC bars.
x/22/2011
This is not a 'bar' but rather a spice cake. If baked in a smaller pan, then information technology gets to also look like a cake; if baked in a 9x13 pan it's still a cake, but also thin.
05/twenty/2004
I had no idea how moist applesauce cakes could be. I was very impressed. Sure the discription always says moist when making cakes from scratch merely what you commonly end up with is a dense heavy cake. Now I am writing this review as a "cake" becuase that is what I made. I doubled the recipe and kept it in a 9x13 and it came out moist and delicious. No need for frosting but powderd sugar on top. I will definatly keep this recipe on hand. It tastes better than most boxed spice cakes.
10/16/2003
I had a bunch of McIntosh apples I had to process into applesauce before they went bad. This was a cracking style to apply the applesauce in baking! I made muffins instead of confined (400 degrees for 15 minutes) and they were very moist and flavorful. The people in my function really enjoyed them. Next time I plan on adding dried fruits and nuts to brand them a niggling heartier. I might even top them with a streusel topping for a twist. This is a wonderful base recipe that tin can actually exist catered to private tastes. If y'all are looking to apply up some applesauce or accept a tasty harvest treat I strongly reccomend you give this recipe a try. It is very quick and uncomplicated and the results are delicious.
06/12/2003
These confined are wonderful. They're unbelievably light and moist. I made them in an eight X 12-inch pan and they are just a nice thickness. They were washed in about 18 - twenty minutes. I used a glass pan so reduced the oven temperature to 325F. I didn't make any changes to the recipe except for the icing. I had some chocolate cream cheese icing left over from another cake so used information technology instead of the icing in the recipe. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
02/25/2003
Very good. I added some raisins and they were succulent. A note on the frosting....you lot might desire to add a lilliputian extra milk. It was mode to stiff and would have smashed the bars if I tried spreading it.
03/25/2011
very good & moist even westward/out frosting. baked in 8x8 pna for 20 min & added raisins
02/26/2011
I give this four stars because it was like shooting fish in a barrel and I have about of the ingredients on hand at all times, and they were very moist and mildly sweet. I didn't make the frosting to cut back on calories, just Hubby topped w/whipped cream and Carmel sauce and said information technology was amazing. Next fourth dimension I will add walnuts and apply a slightly smaller pan.
01/16/2005
These confined are fantastic!! Very moist, as claimed. I would definitely double for a 9x13 pan, unless you lot like them thin. I used apple pie spice instead of pumpkin pie spice, and I used cinnamon applesauce rather than regular. They are definitely something I will brand again presently. My kids loved them!
01/07/2011
Yum! I made the post-obit changes: three/4 cup whole wheat flour (1/iv cup all-purpose), 1/ii cup white sugar (instead of 2/iii cup chocolate-brown; I was out of brown and ran out of white after 1/2 cup), and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/ii teaspoon nutmeg, i/iv teaspoon both cloves and ginger instead of the pumpkin pie spice (didn't take whatsoever). I also added about three/4 cup chopped walnuts. Information technology is Plenty sweet, even with unsweetened applesauce and without the glaze; I will probably decrease the sugar to 1/3 cup next time. This block is awesome by it's cocky. There is actually no need for the frosting! I will definitely, definitely brand this again and again!
11/10/2002
Very easy and quick. I used an 8x8 pan the get-go time to make a block. The 2d time I tried information technology in an 11x13 pan and baked it well-nigh 20 minutes. It does taste like carrot block. Succulent!
02/21/2011
Very good and elementary confined! I didn't take pumpkin pie spice, so I used 1/four tsp. of ginger, 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg and 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon. Great flavour! I ended upwards cooking them for xxx minutes and that was definitely too much. The 25 minutes specified would take been just perfect.
01/12/2011
These are great! I followed the recipe with the exception of the all purpose flour. I prefer the texture of cake flour and found it worked very well with this recipe. The bars held together and I didn't feel they were likewise sparse at all being baked in a 9x13 inch pan. They did, nevertheless accept to be cut into squares directly in my pan. They don't come up unstuck without some effort. Topped them off with powdered saccharide. Not a fan of frosting. This recipe is a keeper!
08/25/2010
My search for the perfect applesauce confined have ended here!! I am and then thrilled that I came upon this recipe because it'south fantastic. I doubled the recipe and added raisins, per some viewers suggestions. I'thou glad that I did because I would imagine that the bars would have been way too apartment if I broiled them in such a big pan without doubling. Other than those few things, I didn't change anything else and I can't say enough. I beloved this recipe!!
10/26/2002
VERY yummy! And extremely like shooting fish in a barrel. But I screwed upward the frosting by using regular sugar (don't let significant women endeavour new recipes!). The bars were very moist and flavorful, will definitely make over again.
x/01/2010
Succulent, and so very like shooting fish in a barrel! I know a lot of people had some problems with the size of the confined, just I thought the confined came out fine in a 9x13; they're more like a "bar" than a cake square. I likewise used a foam cheese frosting drizzle-blazon topping. I fabricated these in a pinch when I had visitor over and they were eaten right up! I highly recommend this recipe.
10/thirty/2007
this was the most magical food creation that i have e'er put in my rima oris. i have never been more satisfied by a baked product before. ever. i mean wow. i used chunky applesauce and baked information technology in an 8x8 pan. i as well didnt have pumpkin pie spice, and and then i used cinnamon and nutmeg instead. mmm mmm mmm mm. thanks for this recipe. im forever indebted.
04/21/2012
I don't know how the recipe calls for 9x16 pan. I used an 8x8 and the bars were still thin. The icing was as well too sweet and not enough to encompass the 8x8 surface. The taste and texture were good though, but I felt mislead past the recipe.
01/04/2011
Easy and delicious. It tastes like a yummy and healthy spice cake.
05/01/2006
A delicious cake bar, i didn't have any pumpkin spice so subsequently reading the reviews i took NOVACOOK'Due south advice and used 1/ii cinnamon 1/iv nutmeg and 1/4 all spice. And these applesauce bars turned out wonderful moist light and very tasty.I will definitely be making these yummy bars again bully recipe cheers
11/08/2003
Wonderful taste however they were way too sparse. The 9/13 pan suggested didn't piece of work well. I suggest a 9/9 pan and increase cooking 5 minutes.
08/19/2012
I honey these like shooting fish in a barrel bars and have made them many times. I usually sub Splenda brown sugar blend for the carbohydrate and add together raisins. Cream cheese frosting is the all-time compliment to them for me. Today I fabricated them and added a grated apple (to a one-half recipe) and they were very yummy and apple-y. Thank y'all for the recipe!
06/03/2003
Nosotros Honey THESE Bars! I would've never thought that such a simple recipe would taste so expert, even my husband has been won over. For two days everytime I asked my four-yr-old what he wanted for a snack he would shout, "Applesause Bars!!" The Only thing I might change next time is the amt. of vanilla in the frosting... it was near a piffling too overwhelming. Other than that they were perfect for the states. Give thanks you, Debbi!
ten/21/2011
Swell recipe & very moist. My family loved these cake like bars. I did make a few changes: Substituted pumpkin pie spices with 1/4 tsp nutmeg, i/4 tsp ground ginger & ane/2 tsp cinnamon. Didn't take regular applesauce, so I used chunky & information technology worked very well so I will do that over again in future. Also used cream cheese frosting. Next fourth dimension I will use 9x9 pan or double recipe so confined are thicker. Great snack & dessert.
10/24/2003
I thought it was delicious. My husband and kids loved information technology too. I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice, and then I used ane/2 tsp of cinnamon, i/4 tsp of nutmeg and 1/two tsp of basis cloves. Admittedly wonderful!!!!
06/09/2013
If I could charge per unit this any lower than null I would. This was terrible. I made this recipe according to the directions, put it in a 9x13 inch pan as the instructions call for and the "bars" were no thicker than a chocolate chip cookie. I'm not certain what everyone else hither has done with these but to say they are amazing or fantastic is completely off the rails. My advice... either broil them in an 8x8 pan or find a different recipe considering this one is horrible. If people accept to brand modifications to the recipe to arrive work than the recipe is flawed and needs to either be edited or removed completely. A complete waste of my time and ingredients.
01/22/2003
Quick and yummy. My two year one-time loves to brand this with me.
11/04/2010
mmmmm....all-time warm. nosotros all honey them. the frosting listed goes perfect! i employ an 8x11 pan. i think the 9x13 would accept made them likewise thin
07/31/2005
we followed the diretions exacally they truned out tarrible.
04/24/2004
Overall, these bars were great! However, I did not particularly like the texture, which was a mix betwixt cookie and cake. Maybe my family unit is but not used to the cakey/chewy texture. On the plus side, the season was wonderful. Since I didn't accept pie spice, I used one-half a teaspoon of cinnamon and two pinches each of nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and ginger.
07/07/2003
This simple recipe is easy and delicious. I don't keep pumpkin pie spice on mitt, and then I substituted 1/2t cinnamon, one/4t nutmeg, and 1/4t cloves. I broiled in a 9x9 pan and then that I could utilise my convection oven, so the consequence was more block-similar than the original. Very tasty.
ten/23/2011
Very moist and delicious! I'm giving it five stars b/c of the yummy flavor and It WAS SO EASY TO Make! Bated from using a 7x11 pan, baked information technology according to recipe and it turned out moist and delicious. If you need a quick become to, this is the recipe for yous. Just for fun, will endeavour either foam cheese frosting or simply some pumpkin spiced whipped topping next time.
04/14/2003
These bars were just every bit others said, TERRIFIC!!!. I doubled the corporeality and added in the mixture 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/two teaspoon mixed spice, and a dash of nutmeg. I also added i/2 teaspoon lime juice into the frosting mixture. Yummm! Delicious, moist and close to the taste of a carrot block. Side by side time I'll add raisins as others recommended.
01/13/2012
Delicious! I didn't alter the recipe at all except for using Splenda Brown Saccharide instead of regular considering I'm diabetic. I as well used Sugar Free Vanilla Frosting instead of the provided frosting recipe. Definately a keeper :)
06/09/2012
I used whole wheat flour for the all purpose, too used 1 tsp cinnamon and one tsp pumpkin pie spice, baked in a 9x9 pan for 25 minutes, a 9x13 pan would take been way too thin, skipped icing as bars were sweet enough, nice snack bar.
01/xi/2011
light, fluffy, and delicious! I baked them in a 9 x ix pan for 25 minutes and they were perfect. I likewise cut the coat recipe in half considering I did non want them to be as well sweet!
01/23/2011
Maybe a 3 because I did not put icing on them, as I was tryng to keep them healthier for my daughter's pre-school. I did sprinkle a little confectioner's sugar and it got absorbed and was not seen on elevation. Overall, they were a niggling banal leading to the three stars - may try again with icing.
07/31/2011
Very good recipe! I just sprinkled powedered sugar over mine instead of the glaze, and it tasted just every bit good. I also fabricated sure to add one/ii cup of raisins, it creates more texture and flavor!
ten/10/2002
These were ane of the easiest desserts e'er. They were very moist and so delicious. I took them to a piece of work gathering and some people thought they were pumpkin bars. I will make these again for sure and next time endeavour nuts on the topping.
11/12/2008
This was then succulent! I brought it to 2 different group events and everyone loved information technology. I followed the recipe almost exactly, except I substituted i/2tsp. cinnamon, 1/4tsp. ginger, 1/8tsp. cloves, 1/8tsp. nutmeg for the pumpkin pie spice. The first time I fabricated it, I frosted it with storebought vanilla frosting. The second fourth dimension I sprinkled powdered sugar on information technology. Information technology was bang-up both means. This is my new favorite fall dessert.
05/02/2012
Delicious!! Side by side batch I brand I'yard gonna double up the recipe!!
12/02/2011
Very Good! I added a few raisins and went with a foam cheese frosting.
01/06/2011
Wonderful, simple, easy cake. Afterwards reading reviews I added one tsp cinnamon, one/2 tsp vanilla extract & 1/3 c chopped walnuts and used cinnamon applesauce. I too used Smart Balance original in place of the butter. I baked mine in an 8X8 metal pan & it was washed in 28 minutes. I frosted this with (Janni'southward) Foam Cheese Frosting Ii & it was an excellent combo! Next time I'll endeavour adding raisins like other reviewers. Thank you!
02/23/2006
Very quick, easy and simple recipe - only also very tasty. I lacked the pumpkin spice and used a cinnamon and nutmeg combo, as well, and besides followed the advice of some other melt who suggested adding chopped apple (about a cup / 1 large apple) - what a Great improver!! We skipped the frosting and never missed information technology.
05/12/2011
These are tasty bars. I baked them in an 11 x seven inch dish and they were pretty thin. I tin can't imagine how thin they would be in a nine x thirteen inch dish. I frosted them with cream cheese frosting I had leftover from another recipe. These taste great and cheers for a great recipe.
12/23/2009
These were very expert. They plough out soft and moist. We sprinkled our with powdered sugar. They were a prissy "non-sweetness" addition to our christmas cookies.
10/02/2003
Excellent! Squeamish & Calorie-free bars, but we topped them with carmel frosting VI & pecans instead of the recipe frosting since I had no powdered sugar. The 2 of us polished them off in 1 weekend!
06/17/2003
Very moist and yummy. I made these for a family get together and the adults liked them ameliorate than the kids. I added a 1/2t nutmeg and 1t cinnamon. I drizzled some shop bought cream cheese frosting over them, instead of frosting the entire pan.
04/04/2010
These are slap-up. I used the cream cheese, butter recipe frosting. But I am sure they are groovy on thier own or w/ the frosting from the recipe. My boys ate all of it in the first 24 hours. I sifted my flour but will not next fourth dimension. They were a footling too moist to cut and swallow similar a bar, more similar a cake.
10/twenty/2011
These were fast and tasty! A big hit as a treat at a game night.
09/05/2011
expert - can substitute fruit babyfood for applesauce. used softened butter instead of melted margarine and added a sm. packet of micky d'southward caramel sauce for apples instead of vanilla.
09/24/2010
Delicious, quick and very piece of cake!!! I had all the ingredients on hand and it took inappreciably any time to put it together. Definately use a smaller pan; I used an 8X8 metal pan and they are the perfect size bars.
10/14/2011
Quick & like shooting fish in a barrel. Just sprinkled powerder saccharide on superlative.
10/27/2003
Very quick to get together! An incredibly easy recipe that disappears fast! I think next time, I would add raisins and bake it in an 8X8 pan; the bars were block-like in texture, but quite thin. I also drizzled the icing as opposed to spreading it and this looked very pretty and professional. UPDATE: I made these bars again equally I had some applesauce to use upwards. I broiled in an 8 x 9 inch pan for 22 minutes. They were perfectly moist and delicious. I did not frost them simply sprinkled icing sugar on elevation. Compliments from my family unit and guest.
10/21/2002
Good basic absurdity spice bar. Light texture and simply enough frosting. Excellent with homemade applesauce from the local orchard.
01/17/2007
I had several pints of bootleg apple butter I did not want to go to waste. I made a double recipe following the recipe except using 2 Cups of apple tree butter instead of applesauce. I eliminated the spices since the apple butter was highly seasoned. Added a handful of cranraisins. Baked for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Bars were thick and very, very good. Will exercise it again with no hesitation.
11/02/2002
Very good at my scrapbooking party!
08/01/2003
Thanks, Debbi - I dear giving the kids a snack that's a bit healthier than shop-bought cupcakes! I made this recipe every bit muffins - they only took virtually 15 minutes to broil, and information technology was easier that manner to "customize" them for different family members: some go icing, some get icing sprinkled with chopped nuts, some get powdered carbohydrate, and some get sprinkled with cinnamon carbohydrate. For icing, I used some softened cream cheese beaten with powdered sugar (taste it until you get the sweet level you like) and a niggling milk to brand it more spreadable. Really good recipe!
09/24/2009
Delicious! Just modify I made was to use an 11x7 blistering dish and information technology was perfect. The recipe doesn't specify, so I used unsweetened applesauce and that was fine. Still plenty sweet. I besides added about i/iii cup cream cheese to the frosting. One-half the pan was scarfed upward past daughter and friend within a half hour after arriving dwelling from school. This is and then easy and can be whipped up in the blink of an centre! Cheers Debbi for this slap-up recipe.
11/09/2003
Delicious recipe! Fabricated mine without frosting and it was great! Added stale tropical fruits (near ane/2 c). My family wanted to eat the whole pan! Thank you Debbi!
01/06/2011
These are and so skilful. And moist! I added raisins, and used cream cheese frosting, YUM! I as well used whole wheat flour and no sugar applesauce. Yet DE-LISH!
03/21/2007
everyone seemed to be using a narrower pan or doubling the recipe, so i did the aforementioned, just this probably detracted from the original meaning: bars. what i got was a (delicious) cake bite, not a bar. and so, as a cake seize with teeth, 4 stars!
11/eighteen/2004
My family loved this recipe! An like shooting fish in a barrel to make, moist, yummy dessert.
04/02/2010
This is probably my dd's nearly requested dessert! The just change I make is to apply 1/2 cup ap flour and ane/two cup whole wheat flour. Otherwise I make as directed to rave reviews. I (and my dd) thank you for sharing.
ten/02/2008
Then EASY! I through it together on a whim for a potluck and it was a huge striking, making information technology again tongiht! I subed butter for margarine. Thanks so much for a great recipe, will be using often!
04/05/2003
I fabricated these bars and the whole family LOVED them. My hubby says they are addictive and they didn't last long in our house. And then simple too, with ingredients you probably have on hand. I did add together a niggling more milk to the frosting to make it easier to spread. YUM!!!
08/30/2004
These bars are very good. They're extremely spicey with all the pumpkin pie seasoning. It reminds me of a spice cake more than applesauce. I put them in a 9x9 pan, and it worked perfectly. If making them in a 9x13 I would definitely double the recipe or they would exist also thin. I frosted them with i/2 recipe of cream cheese frosting. They are very moist and flavorful.
11/06/2011
Very moist and flavorful. I've served information technology with and without frosting. When I did make frosting I added some cream cheese to information technology. Family unit liked information technology both ways.
09/19/2010
I made this in an 8 past 8 pan too, so it was more than like a snack cake. I substituted whole wheat flour for part of the white, and my kids keep begging for more than.
10/05/2010
Very practiced! I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice, so I used 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and i/4 tsp of nutmeg just equally suggested by another reviewer. Besides, I didn't make the frosting, just powdered sugar was enough for u.s..
03/29/2009
Amazing! I made my own apple sauce well,(Sarah's Applesauce from this site), non my own, only information technology was amazing. I took it to a card/game night at a friends house, and it was gone by the time nosotros left.
04/28/2012
I have 3 words for this recipe: easy, quick and tasty!
08/01/2012
Flavor is balmy. I recall I will add some ground ginger next time. They were done in 20 min. using a 9 x 13 pan. Aye, they do come out thin only non a big deal. Very good and will brand once again. Family unit liked it too.
01/16/2008
This is a fantastic recipe! I brand it in a 8 X viii pan for 25-30 minutes in the oven so that information technology's non likewise moisture. I also make it even healthier by substituting one/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup white flour and use less butter (two-three tablespoons) than the recipe calls for and you can't tell there's any difference! Another variation: substitute the apple sauce with another kind of fruit sauce (of similar consistency). I've done it with mango sauce (from Trader Joe'southward) and it came out great!
07/fifteen/2009
I thought that these were just ok, merely I still gave them four stars because the recipe is and so easy and too considering they are fairly low calorie. They would be much better with a cream cheese icing.
01/11/2012
Fantastic! I am the food service director at an upscale independent living center. I recently made these for desset. The only thing I did differently was I doubled the recipe and added some raw ground carrots. To the frosting I added some pumpkin pie spice. Moist and delicious. Thank you for sharing.
xi/16/2010
DELICIOUS! Used Brummel and brown instead of margarine with 1/2c wheat/ane/2 c white flour and it turned out awesome.
09/nineteen/2010
Oh sooo good. I doubled it for a 9x13. Added a pinch of cloves and nutmeg since I don't take pumpkin spice and I take fabricated it 2 times in 3 days. Rave reviews from fifty-fifty the pickiest eaters. Thank you!
01/09/2011
WOW! Cook in my mouth insanely smashing! ONLY problem was the oan size... 9x13?? Wish I would have read other users reviews first and changed the pan size, since these are like as thin as a slice of tissue paper! Simply a CRAZY Proficient tissue paper :) The icing is perfect also! Everyone just said, "Wish these were x times equally thick :)" It'southward a compliment hehe.... Great recipe!
01/29/2011
Used chunky applesauce and followed recipe exactly. Family ate these up in a few hours flat! Didn't put on icing because they ate them up before I could get it on!
12/09/2002
and then yummmmmmy!!!! thank you so much debbi!
06/29/2010
astonishing!!!! I added raisins, made information technology perfect. Don't need to modify at all! I had to use a smaller baking dish so I baked it a tad longer, just it was so good! Most and full of flavor!
01/19/2003
Very practiced, moist and really a pretty lite dessert if you go easy on the icing or opt for the confectioner's saccharide instead of icing.
05/09/2004
I substituted 1/4 C. applesauce for the butter and added 1 C. quick oats. I as well frosted with Caramel Frosting IV. They were crawly, and I'll exist making them again and again.
06/22/2011
My bars were more like cake because I doubled the recipe but nonetheless used a 9X13 pan. I recall another reviewer suggested using just 1 egg to brand them more than bar like. I also added 2/iii c. of raisins and one peeled, finely chopped apple. They gustatory modality good and are actually moist. I sprinkled powdered sugar on height instead of doing the frosting.
07/29/2010
These bars were simple to make and very moist. I added the vanilla frosting and wow it really fabricated the bar delicious. Alone the bar was still expert simply not as exciting ;-). Confectioners' sugar on top would be another neat alternative.
01/05/2011
Dear these! I like the fact that they don't accept much butter and they are still moist and have great flavor. I take left these plain, frosted with brown butter frosting too as using cream cheese frosting. They always taste great!
02/25/2011
WOW! These are crawly- especially for being somewhat lower in fat. The kids gobbled them up too. The frosting was a little sweet- simply oh so good on the warm cake.
